Brandon Colvin

Brown Belt · Gracie Humaita

Brandon is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Dave Dominy through Gracie Humaita. He earned his brown belt in June 2026 after eight years of dedicated training, built on consistent time on the mats, sound fundamentals, and the patience the art demands.

At True Light, Brandon coaches both the youth and adult programs and leads programming, shaping the curriculum, class structure, and progression students follow from their first class onward. His goal is a clear, consistent path where every student knows what they are working on and why.

Brandon brings extensive experience teaching and coaching children and youth. He has coached students throughout Ontario, and his coaching has taken him overseas to Thailand, where he coached the Team Canada Jiu-Jitsu Fighting Team. Whether he is working with a nervous first-time student, an adult returning to training, or a competitor preparing for the international stage, he brings the same clear instruction, high standards, and encouragement.

His passion for martial arts started at a young age and reaches well beyond Jiu-Jitsu. Experience in Karate, Modern Arnis, Krav Maga, and Muay Thai gives him a broad view of striking, weapon-based movement, and practical self-defense, and it shapes the well-rounded approach he brings to every class at True Light.
